Recommend an Ironing Board

I don't iron a lot, but when I do I want a good sturdy one with a good pad. Any recommendations for top brands, models and where to buy them?

Best one I've heard of is Brabantia sold at williamssonoma.com. Don't have one, but its probably the best widely available option right now. Unless Rowenta starts making theirs again...

Personally, the ironing board is the least important...a good pad and a great iron, with distilled water, are where it's at! I have a Rowenta -- http://www.williams-sonoma.com/produ...re%7Chkglndirn -- and swear by it.

I saw it on the WS on-line store. Looks good. I would like to hear from a owner. Anyone have one or another one that think is the best?

(I see that it says "no gift wrapping" Can you imaging a guy buying this as a gift for his wife? I imagin no nookie for the rest of his married life

I have a great iron and need a solid, folding ironing board and deluxe pad.

fyi: it's much less the board than it is the iron.

Could easily be on a wedding gift registry though, eh? Not a very inspirational present but may be necessary for a couple starting out.

FWIW, Brooke Astor's butler apparently prefers Teflon ironing boards over cloth covered ones.

Not if the board wobbles when you apply even the slightest pressure. Past that, I agree with your above comments.

A nice vented board is great for pants, but for shirts I actually prefer a more heavily padded board. I also prefer ironing boards that dont have those attachments to hold the iron because I use the back end (square end) for shirts.
