Really disappointed in AE Carlyle

I bought of pair of AE Carlyles during their sale in April. I put them in rotation and have worn them twice per week at the most. This morning I went to put them on and noticed a big slice in the toe, like someone took a razor blade to it. I am not hard on shoes, and take good care of them. Polish every three wears, overshoes when it's wet outside, shoe trees always after each use. I feel like this shouldn't have happened, like he finish on the leather was weak. A scuff maybe, but it take a lot of scrape off a big chunk of leather. Anyway, I'm sending them in hopefully they will take care of it.
