Has anyone bought anything from RL's new line?

I have seen some of the polo's and they look nice, although unsure of the difference in quality. If anyone has bought any itm from this range, can you let us know how it is?

I have a western-style button down casual shirt from them, and really like it. Got it from Nord Rack. Somewhat trim-fitting, too.

I thought they only carried Rugby in the Rubgy stores.

I have numerous sweaters, and cardigans and vests and shirts from them. I like them alot, it fits well, the quality is pretty good, and most of all, I like how it looks. I wouldn't wear a whole "rugby" outfit, but to mix and match with more subdued designs, i think it looks good.

There are tons of Rugby stuff at my local Polo Ralph Lauren outlet. I always thought it's an intro line into the RL empire, with cheaper prices.

I've got a pair of shorts from them. they look fine and fit well, but (maybe this is just me) the buttonholes are just on the verge of being too small for their buttons.

Seems okay, I haven't actually tried the stuff on that I've seen at Nordy Rack. It's like trad trying to be bad boy. Instead of critter chinos, there are chinos with skull and bones. A little try-hard.

Rugby products always seem to LOOK alright, but I'm almost always turned off by the level of quality in the fabrics and construction. I think they charge way too much for what seems to be RL's reponse to A&F, American Eagle and all those other younger mall brands.

+100

Looked at sport jackets once in a Rugby store.
Cheap fabrics for sure.
Fit is slim and usually looks more European than regular RL tents.
But the full retail of $400+ is nothing short of insane.
At an outlet mall for less than $100, it might be a decent proposition.

I own a couple of shirts and a jacket from Rugby, and they are some of my favorite items.

Rugby is Ralph Lauren's stab at the collegiate market, so it's aimed at the 18 to 20-something crowd. It goes for the old-school prep look, hence lots of rugby shirts (of course), tweeds, khakis, blazers, etc. The fit of nearly all their items is slim, which is awesome for someone like me. Quality-wise, it's the same as the regular Polo line. Design-wise, I think it's slightly better than Polo ... a bit more funky and daring.

I don't think buying Rugby at full price makes much sense, but if you can find it on sale it's not bad.

Own an oxford shirt and a few pairs of their pants (2 cords, 2 chinos) love their cuts (especially their oxfords) but generally find them a bit pricey. Apparently, if you're a student you can get 15% off with your student ID (and a valid .edu e-mail account).

They do have a "winter sale" going on right now - alas, those oxfords aren't included.
