I am more used to having a trainer/ punching mitts. I am a bit lost on my own but the club I am a member of has boxing equipment used only once a week.

1. work on rounds
2. 2-5 rounds on speed bag
3. I do 2 rounds of each of the following, right handed and left handed
4. lead hand only - basically jab, or jab hook
5. jab cross only
6. everything you know
7. uppercuts and hooks only
8. I do about the same amount of time on non-fists - elbows, slaps, knees and kicks, but if you are boxing, stick to boxing.

Gym trainer or a boxing coach?

I'm not a big speed bag guy, but I enjoy the heavy bag. Strikes are all well and good, but you can't forget your footwork (strike angles, moving in and out of range), body/head movement, and keeping your hands up.

Outside of that, work your combos, make sure to change elevations, and pretend like the bag is an actual opponent.

I'm trying to decide which heavy bag/stand combo I should buy. Any suggestions? I was looking at this one but the ring that holds the chain looks really thin and flimsy. I'm afraid it will break after prolonged use.

Also, this one too. I've read some reviews saying the spring holding the bag breaks after a few months of usage and also, the bag will likely tear after a few months of use. I'm thinking you can have parts and the bag replaced with relative ease?

Also, a member on here mentioned the Century Cornerman. Can anyone speak about the quality?

Thanks!

Oh yeah, regarding routines, I just do the 3 punches with 2 kicks routine until I get bored then I just do whatever. LOL
