eBay coupons, for the most part, can only be used if you yourself receive a message from eBay about them.

Happened to me before. If you're not eligible (i.e. not received a message), the coupon will be invalid once you try to get to PayPal.

I don't know that I've ever received a coupon from eBay. I know I have that option checked. Grr.

I applied (by putting in the code and clicking 'apply') the coupon.
My checkout page then showed a 10% discount.
When I clicked 'continue' to pay I received the quoted message.

My father get the coupons on his account. They never show up for me. I don't know if this is the reason but he hardly buys and sells a lot. I do some selling but I buy far more.

It is account specific. I just got a coupon sent to me when I paid on 2 other ebay items I bought. Now all I am trying to do is figure out how to us ethis 25% live cash rebate thingie.
