Preference on Trouser cuffs?

Do you cuff your pants or not? Suit trousers only, or in general, maybe none at all? If its a toss up and you have both, what goes into deciding what trousers you prefer cuffed and which you do not?

I prefer to have cuffs on my trousers in general. As I am quite tall and have long legs, I usually need them a bit bigger than standard. This is sometimes hard to achieve since even the longest trousers have too little extra fabric.

I don't do them when the pattern contradicts, even for a pinstripe I prefer not to have a cuff. Also for very fitted odd trousers (to be worn with just a shirt) I prefer the look without.

Whether suit or odd trousers, pleated or flat front, all my trousers have cuffs--1.75".

I tend to wear cuffs in all my suits. I think it adds a bit of weight to the end of the legs to help them drape better.

For slacks and casual pants I tend to go with a pleat+cuffs or flat-front+no cuffs approach.

Plain hem on Flat fronts with even less break.

All my suits are pleated and cuffed

All pleats, all 1.5" cuffs. I'm long, lean, handsome and have been told that I look fantastic in turtlenecks, if that makes a difference.

Entirely depends upon:

• What the trousers are to be used for,
  other aspects of the styling
  my mood
  and whether I am looking to bring variety into my wardrobe.
  
  'Rules' are the bain of everyone's life and no justification for any decision in this regard.

Cuffs on all trousers, flat front or pleats. I think pants look naked without the cuff. All in one idiot's opinion.

No cuffs on my khaki's though.

I usually wear a 1 3/4 cuff and including tailors find it strange. At this point I find it strange for me not to have 1 3/4 cuff. Also I like a straight leg sometimes just the way it creases and lays across the shoes.

I tend to follow this rule as well, but I did have cuffs put on my flat-front Bill's Khakis. It just seemed the right thing to do.

I'll be the contrarian voice. I am 5'9" and all my pants (suit pants and other slacks) are all without cuffs. I think it gives it a more leaner look and . . . . makes me look taller

As of the addition of weight argument, I always ask for more fabric to be folded underneath, so I can have a nice drape and break.

Have you guys seen stud buttons on the inside of a cuff?

Is it standard practice to place these buttons to attach the cuff as opposed to stitching?

I'm with you. I've abandoned cuffs almost entirely.

Yes I request this cuff all the time in Australia, and must tailors and sales staff think Im crazy. However, I found in Japan they did it automatically.
