Does such a thing exist? Please list some examples.

Turnbull & Asser makes bows out of their brightly colored geometric patterned city silks. Those would be the closest thing.

But, no, I don't believe the term actually exists. And "power" and "bowtie" sort of cancel eachother out anyway.

so if have a power suit, I should go with a power tie rather than bowtie right?

Does the bowtie make guys more feminine, less powerful?

I can't tell if you are serious or not, but if you are, my advice would be to just drop the whole concept of "power" from your clothing lexicon. It's an interesting historical/sociological concept at best, but otherwise gets in the way of true style. Focus instead on what you like, what you need for work etc., and what looks good on you.

I can't yet figure out the multi quote function - but I am an occaisional bowtie wearer and definitely agree. 'Power' and 'bowtie' don't really go hand in hand. And again to echo the sartorial sage, style does not involve power.

The words "power" and "bowtie" don't belong in the same sentence.

I'm always surprised at how much love power dressing gets around here.

When my father-in-law, who just passed away last month, was working for Jorgensen steel (Earl Jorgensen later became a close political associate of Ronald Reagan, BTW, and was part of his "kitchen cabinet"), he was called on the carpet and ordered to desist from wearing bowties. They were considered too jaunty and sporty for Jorgensen steel. This would have been back in those nifty '50s. So much for "power bowties."

Exactly.
