I've been trying not to buy new watches over the past couple of years and though I've been failing miserably, I have been pretty good at not buying new Seiko dive watches because even though I love them, I have way too many. These new, slightly smaller versions of their existing designs has been making it really difficult.

I've got a couple MM300 that I rarely wear anymore because my tastes have changed a bit and I prefer something a little less heavy. The MM200 "Baby Marinemaster" is really enticing though. If they had actually put "Marinemaster" on the dial again, I'd probably already have one by now.

These two in particular have been calling to me:

I have the one on the left. It is the perfect size for a toolish dive watch, has some of the Marine Master design elements and is a great watch. My only complaint is the Seiko bracelet and the fact that Uncle Seiko does not make an aftermarket bracelet for this one. Otherwise, it's one of my favorite Seiko dive watches.

Due to something posted in the other watch thread, I started looking around for adventurine dialed watches and stumbled across this-

I know nothing about the brand, but it's hard to go wrong at that price.

Sadly, the Saxonia Thin will forever be outside my comfort zone.

This may be a controversial opinion, but it's my opinion. Total fashion watch in the sense that the wearer is not far off from Andy Warhol's theory of wristwatches. Any watch that doesn't easily and readably yield the time has little functional value

I recently sold my Smith's Everest with an aventurine dial... and immediately regretted it. It was a gorgeous watch and I loved the fit. The dial was pretty subtle in most situations but in the right light it lit up absolutely beautifully.
