It's cheap. But it's also seriously old -- very low gorge, extremely low stance (almost comically so, I find). I've also never heard of Howarths, though I haven't lived in Toronto for that long -- in any case, the store this was made for is no longer around and hasn't been for a couple of years. But if you like the way it looks, none of that should matter (except for the cheapness).

Old Prince of Wales check suits, also, when described as in good condition or new may have tiny black irregularities, which come from the black parts of the fabric. If you look carefully at the picture you will see them all over the place.

I personally would not buy used or quite old POW suits anymore, as I had a negative experience once. But if you are not bothered by the described problem, go for it. I mean for 29$ the risk is not very high IMO.

I would not sweat the gorge, the button stance, or the irregularities in the surface of the fabric if you want a cheap coat like this. These are pretty minor details.

I would sweat the fact that this is an orphaned suit coat (size tag reads 46/40), that the label and cut suggests the coat is 20 years old, and that the seller is representing it as a new (NWOT = scam 90% of the time) and as a sportcoat. Sellers looks like someone who throws crap at the wall and hopes that something sticks.

$50 is too much.
