Pavement Rides again...

That must of been when Gary Young was the still the drummer. I saw them with Sonic Youth (only) on that tour. Never thought SY would still be together almost 20 years later.

Saw Sonic Youth in 2000 and they were absolutely amazing. Never seen anything like it since.

how did Pavement get this big? i remember seeing two shows at Spaceland here in LA for like 10 bucks back in '97 i think it was.

now the only fuckin' scheduled SoCal tour date is Coachella. wtf is that all about.

Partly, the "indie" music scene in the 2000s is very much influenced by Pavement. With the prevalence of the internet, young music listeners are able to learn that fact and hear about immediately influential bands like them via music blogs or websites. Their music has aged very well and is probably more relevant now than in the 90s.

Not to mention they had 10 years of being gone which makes people hunger even more and there are lots of fans who were too young to see them in their prime (like me). If they hung around making mediocre albums through most of the 2000s then people wouldn't care all that much.

The Osaka show was great! The venue and sound were good; the band was clearly having a good time.

I bought tickets to the NY show last September believing I would more than likely be moving there in August. Apparently, they're also playing in Berkeley. May have to see them twice? Or sell the NY ticket, I wonder how receptive B&S would be?

caught them as opening act for sonic youth in stockholm 92, prob same tour, gary young on drums. ha was totally wasted, couldnt drum for **** and spent most of the show throwing spaghetti sticks at the audience, think that was his schtick. Saw them again here in 99' both concerts were kinda lame, prefer them on record as opposed to live. There will apparently be a one time reunion show with gary this summer

feels like forever ago since i bought my ticket back in march. still 3 more months till the show
