I have several of these models and all prices went up $1000 in a matter of 8 months bringing the total of these excuse me all limited editions to $2500.00.Unless you go to Italy. The workman ship are second to none .Even if I were to have bespoke .Personally I dont think you can find better workmanship. From the first time you you placed them on your feet they arelike small chariots I cant say any more.

I saw the limited editions the other day in Lane Crawford, and they looked very nice. With a pricetag to match

Italian styling still strikes me as "trying too hard." They are just too long, too chunky. I don't know - I can't explain it. These just don't do it for me at all. There was one $2000 FAM in the NYC store that I liked the look of and it was just a simple cap-toe. All the others were just way out there for my tastes.

Agreed, and I think the effort to be stylish will only become more apparent with time. Classic proportions haven't been arrived at arbitrarily.

I saw those too, but I think they have bought the most ugly models. They all look so weird, with the exception of the loafer model. At that price point, I think I'd get something more classy from John Lobb, or maybe even Berluti.

Craftmasnship is high perhaps, but comfort is not. My C&J handgrades fit more comfortable out of the box than Santoni FAM.
Although fit and finish of Santoni shoes are far superior to C&J or EG.

I think the comfort is a personal thing: my Santoni's are the most comfortable shoe I own (which is quite strange: I have a weird foot, so if it fits me well how cn it fit normal people!?). Finish: my FAM's have a nicer finish than my C&J's, but the EG's I've seen are really a step above. Maybe this too is personal, but really the EG's are amazing, and they *never* have that "painted" look I hate which is present on a few Santonis.

I like them, but those are Bentivegna and are going to run at least 2K...

Limited Edition Fritz's huh? So LE means the shoe is made entirely by hand, including the welting, vs. the FAMs which are machine goodyear welted?

Yes, please inquire about Oz pricing. Here, serrate edge Fritz FAMS range from $950-990 U.S. I got them in burgandy, and wouldn't hesistate to get them in another color (brown the picture looks like) if the price were right!

I like the styling on those. My FAMs are incredibly comfortable. Some of my most comfortable shoes. It may depend on how your foot fits their last.

same here. I generally prefer Italian styling to British ones, especially for jeans and pants. It's simply leaner and more elegant IMO. I also like the Faro and the Rubino. Check them out. The antiquing is awesome. My FAM aianico are spectacular; back then, it was so much cheaper. There is no way I would spend that much money considering that $1K extra markup.
