You know, finding out how old they are, as opposed to becoming romantically involved with them.
I know they are pre-luxxotica, which was a plus for me. Beyond that, I have no idea. I think the clues as to their actual age will come from the temples and the case.
Purchased from an Ebay Italy seller, who estimated that they were from the early 80's but wasn't sure.
The case is just like the one above. It is brown leather with gold print, and the case snaps around the face of the frame while the temples are still exposed.
The Meflecto hinges are the classic four-barrel setup, unlike the modern two-barrel or the extremely obscure three. Printed on the inside left temple are the following, in order:
142 24 RATTI made in Italy
The right temple says:
Persol 649/4 56 [box] 20
If there's any other characteristics that could help place them, I can describe a bit more, but this seems to be all of it. I turned here since I really couldn't find a resource for this anywhere online, "Persol Throughout the Years" etc.
EDIT: One more bit of info. On each lens, there is a circular etching saying "Persol." Like this:
Thanks for the help guys.
