Girls in Montreal are cute, that said, I would actually choose Vancouver over both. I never lived in any of these place though, just from a tourist point of view, which it pretty useless I suppose...

Don't come to Vancouver. We have too many people already driving up the real estate prices.

as a californian who recently moved to montreal, i have to say i'm not picking it up much french at all. i'm lucky to be in a english office so maybe the fact that i don't have to know it to earn a living is why i am taking long

MEh.. what are you talking about? I've been living here for years and i almost never speak french in the city. For immersion you need to go to Quebec City, or just about any other rural town.
