Hi All,

Been the beneficiary of much knowledge and insight in this forum for a while and thought I'd come out of my shell to ask a question. I've been looking for a good overcoat that will look professional in a professional/work environment and still try and keep me in warm in cold weather. After much searching, I've managed to find a good looking cashmere overcoat from Louis Vuitton, 2 button, single breasted, black coat. Definitely no buyer's remorse as I think it serves it's purpose very very well and looks pretty sharp too.

The question I have and just out of curiosity is what is the general opinion on the construction of LV's "tailor made" products (suits, jackets, coats, etc.). Who do they outsource the manufacturing to? I noticed that the lapel buttonhole is similar to that of Tom Ford's, not sure what it's called but it's like a "smooth" thread. The coat looks very well made and would recommend it to anyone.

Thanks all!

If you're happy with it, why do you need validation on here? Style is inherently intrinsic and market oriented. You bought something that makes you happy, which you've explicitly stated, so enjoy the purchase.

FWIW, I'm fairly positive that the coat was made by Belvest, which is a solid brand.

Thanks, definitely enjoy the coat. my purpose really is to try and "understand" more about it and not seeking any validation. I guess it's a quest for deeper knowledge

Of course I would have loved to be able to get a bespoke coat from Rubinacci or Liverano but unfortunately my pocketboook doesn't it. Liverano would be a dream.....
