I am thinking of buying Cashmere Jacketing for coming Fall, would like to know which make better Cashmere.

Personally I have found both to be of very high quality, though you could certainly make the point that Loro Piana has more experience with cashmere.

Colombo makes great cashmere, visit their outlet if you happen to be in Italy, it's close to Loro Piana outlet in Romagnano Sesia.

I've had good experiences with both Loro Piana and Colombo. A pair of 100% cashmere pants I have from Loro Piana is especially decadent.

Thanks all of you for the advice.

Sorry that Zegna and LP are the only choice, I have to pick between this two.
One more point to think of, if Zegna is just half the price of LP. Let said Zegna is USD450/m and LP is USD1000/m. How would you choose?

Wow? I can't claim to have extensive experience with fabric pricing, but this sounds a bit high.

The most English way of all is this:

Coating = cloth to make coats (eg lounge, sports, morning, dress) +/- matching waistcoat & trousers
Overcoating= cloth to make overcoats to wear over the lounge/sports/morning/dress coat

H Lesser use this rather charmingly old fashioned nomenclature.

For the record. that is the business my father started in 1949, my brother took it over and sold it with the name Despos Tailoring around 10 years ago. I have no connection with that business in Fort Wayne.
