I took some pants to some local cleaners who had good reviews online. When I got the pants back they had a weird odor. I took the pants to a different cleaners and some of the odor was removed but some of the odor still lingers. So I'm looking for top quality dry cleaners by mail who I could trust to eliminate the odor. That gives me my broadest options. Are there any cleaners you would recommend for this task?

I normally just answer questions on SF, albeit with a personal bias and bluntness.

But, since you ask (and circumspice mentioned us above), you might try our Nationwide Clean By Mail service.

We specialize in high fashion, designer, specialty, couture, made-to-measure and bespoke garments so our pricing structure and the quality of our work is quite different from your local cleaner.

As far as trust is concerned, review the list of nationally-recognized, independent, non-compensated, authoritative third parties who endorse us.

You can also view Kirby Allison's -- The Hanger Project's -- recent video review of our Nationwide Clean By Mail service for bespoke garments. It runs about 12 minutes. (RAVE FabriCARE has no affiliation with The Hanger Project apart from the fact that Kirby Allison is a long standing bespoke client).

Contact me at RAVE FabriCARE should you have any questions.

Did you hang them outside? That frequently gets rid of such odours.

Rave has an amazing reputation. If switching to them is too dramatic, have you explored the local options really thoroughly? For example, could you ask around at better tailors or retailers to see which cleaners they recommend?

I have used the services of RAVE (last time was in 2014) more than a few times and they were perhaps the only cleaners in the U.S.A. who can properly clean and press your bespoke suits and jackets. My preowned Huntsman & Sons, Anderson & Sheppard and other New York tailors' bespoke were shipped there. If you have bespoke items and need cleaning and pressing I would only trust the tailor who made them and RAVE.
