Hello everyone - long time lurker, first time poster.

I'm looking for shoes similar to these Bruno Magli's for no more than $500.

Any recommendations would be more than appreciated. If I can't find anything I like that's similar enough, I may just go with the Magli's (I don't know how they are thought of around here though?)

Thoughts?

Those look very nice indeed. I'm a bit worried by the width - I can get away with a Medium (D) width, but I don't think I could fit an E. Beautiful shoes though.

Edit: I know UK sizes are generally different than US/Canada - does this apply to width as well?

Crockett & Jones UK E width is their medium width, so it is commonly associated to US D (medium)width. There may be some variances in the way the C&J E width feels, but that's usually due to the different lasts used on the various shoes.

Are there any online distributors for C&J that are shipping friendly to Canada (preferably with a good return policy)?

Can you comment on which elements specifically you want to keep? I did a look before, and didn't post those C&J for instance because the pattern is different. I considered asking for clarification, but didn't until now ...

What are you looking for, colour wise?

Are you generally just looking for a 1/4 brogue oxford (i.e. punched toe cap and a little more?)

Something similar to oxblood/burgundy...ideally.

Bodiley's tend to be more sensitive to the unique needs of Canadians if you know what I mean.
