Hi all. I am new to raw denim. I have previously only worn washed and cheaper jeans.

I will soon be traveling to Japan (Osaka and Kyoto) and would like to purchase one pair of jeans with the following details:

- Type: Japanese raw denim
- Weight: Lightweight (i.e. 12oz or lower)
- Colour: Meant to fade to mid blue
- Fit: High waisted and straight fit (or wide fit)
- Budget: No specific budget, but willing to pay for a premium product, say ~USD 500

Does anyone have any recommendations for makers or specific products? Thank you!

Sugar Cane 2009’s work well for me. There is a limited selection in 12 oz or under raw denim. Living in So Cal I find that the weather is a bit too hot for regular weight jeans much of the year. The 12 oz SC 2009’s are,by far, my most worn jeans during the summer.

On the downside, lighter weight denim will, of course, have a shorter life.

All your criteria can be met with LVC, now using Japanese denim.

While you specify raw denim, you do not, however specify if you want that denim 12oz pre-shrink or post-shrink. 12oz pre-shrink isn't going to be 12oz post-shrink.
