Industrial designer Rashid does many things, I guess.

Result is some singular styles.

Trying to figure what I like.

Here are some of them:

They don't look like many other things I've seen, but I'm not a sneakerhead.

What d'y'all think?

I think a lot of people see Rashid as kind of a poser. I don't know enough about him to really have an opinion that I would bring to seeing these shoes, though. What's Fessura?

They strike me as Eurotrashy, circa 2002. The red and blue shoes are kind of cool looking, but some of these designs are waaaaay too busy and scifi-cheezy for me.

The simpler ones remind me a little of the Starck Pumas, which arguably look better on display than on a foot. The Mihara Yasuhiro Pumas and Adidas Y-3s fall nicely between these and the simple, classic sneakers the S+D forum seems to prefer.

The ones I'm looking at more are the red and white, and also the black with the patent leather detail.

I think these are from a previous season or year; the ones on the fessura website are different.

I went to a lecture by Rashid. Extensive body of work.
He has his detractors, but I give him credit for the sheer scope of his designs. You have to also keep in mind that what you get on the shelf as being from Rashid design is sometimes a watered down version that some committe has given their two cents on as well.

They definitely look very... karim rashidy. Eurotrashy circa 2002 is spot on.
