My guess would be that re-named styles feature the slimmer cut (ie. Spyder) and the original names (ie. Brading) haven't changed. But I'll look into it.

Happenstance, ask your Smedley stockist to look into ordering XS for you. The company makes them for the Asian market and the shop has brought them in from the factory before on special requests.

Apparently, Saunders was the only casualty among the 30-gauge merino basics. The new basic vee, Bower, fits just like the old Brading. (Although Brading is still available if you want the straight shoulders.)

It's too bad--I find Spyder a little too tight in the shoulders and armholes, while the old Saunders was perfect.

Bump I have been buying knitwear recently and like the classic pullovers on the website

A quick question - can merino wool or cotton pullovers be tailored at all, for example sleeves shortened, hem shortened or slimmed down?

Yes, a decent tailor can do these things. A few months ago, I had a Ralph Lauren sweater taken in at the sides by a tailor.

Anyone have experience with ordering from the retail website from the US (How long did it take)? I put in an order like a week ago, and they've charged my credit card+US postage fees, but the order is still pending. I've sent an email but haven't got a response...although probably because of the holidays.

I'm collecting colors of the Belvoir (wool) roll-necks, size S. Couldn't find them anywhere other than MrPorter, which has an inflated price when not on sale.

I recently got an Ashmont which is made from their "30 gauge New Zealand merino" and found it to be very thin. Is there a slightly thicker v-neck available?
