I was under the impression that the 501 tapered a bit and was not a straight leg.

APC Rescue only sized down 1 or 2? Don't let the term sizing down fool you, it's a pretty relaxed cut and is just vanity sized a bit. It's a good dark relaxed jean for dressing up. R&B RB6 is good for this as well. Great dressy jean in a relaxed almost trouser cut (at least from the pics i've seen).

I'm not sure how much you were looking to spend though.

Tapered jeans are, more often than not, described as straight leg jeans. Tapering slightly from knee to hem gives the impression of a straight leg.

I understand that tapered jeans give the appearance of a straight leg, but i also figured on a forum where we discuss so many different jeans, people were more specific. APC NS gives the appearance of a straight leg but is usually discussed as a tapered jean because of the measurements. I wasn't sure if someone with 1 post was very aware of all of this so i wanted to be specific for him.

I think 501 where tapered in the 80s and part of the 90s, following fashion. Later they went back to anti-fit straight leg style.
The LVCs are true straigt legs in size 32-33 anyways, larger sizes are probably a bit tapered. 501 37 is a rather wide straight leg. Nice fit.
