These are from the proto-pl era, when the purple label was still a designation (albeit the highest one) within the Polo line. Not sure quite when this was, but 1992-93 strikes me as about right. Anyway here are the ties:
Made in the US of beautiful and unusual woven silks, the silvery purple one is obviously a classic riff on the Macclesfield/Spitalsfield theme while the magenta/green stripe is a bit harder to classify. The ties are lined with linen which stop short of the tip. Gives a good knot. If I put them in the rotation now I may get to one of them in the next decade.
