Do these merchants/ websites ever go on sale?
I reall want to buy these pants, but I can't afford the 160 or 200$ price tags. (And I want some unusual colors that aren't usually available on the sale threads)

Short version- do Howard yount or epaulet ever have sales?

Yes, but unless you are some very large or very small size, the most sought after items sell out quickly and never make it to that point.

They do have sales on regular sizes, but realize that these are small operations with limited stock to begin with. If it's caught your eye, it's probably caught another's.

I'll add that their normal prices are already competitive for items of similar quality.

Howard Yount does not have sales except for clearing out old seasonal items that did not sell--it's basically leftovers, and is rarely in common sizes.

competitive isn't the word.

Their flannel trousers have no equal at that price point.

Is this comment referring to Epaulet or HY? Or both? Thanks.

The quote refers to Howard Yount more since Epaulet flannel goes for close to $250.

They both offer awesome flannel but HY is under $200.

So if I were looking for trousers, these would be the best two brands (for the under 200 price range) to look at?

Thanks for your input guys

It's definitely off-season stuff, but I've had good luck in size 32 trousers. Plus, we're talking flannels here. If there's a summer sale.....

Epaulet is actually a little cheaper when they do their "factory finds" thing. The catch is that the fabrics offered won't be to everyone's tastes, but I did pick up one of my favourite pairs of pants there last fall.

I'm hard-pressed to offer a comparable alternative.
