Hey guys, I'm wondering if you can help me out.

I have a school presentation on Friday, and I need to dress business-ish. I figured I'd go for a shirt, sweater over it, and a pair of jeans?

The problem is, I'm not sure where to buy this stuff or how its suppose to be worn. I've heard you're suppose to pick a neutral sweater for the top.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

PS. I live in NYC.

Jeans and business-ish do not mix.

Why not some nice slacks, dress shirt, and matching color belt and shoes?

That's pretty simple and should suffice for your needs.

if you're going to do sweater over shirt, do a v-neck sweater.

however for business wear, I do recommend slacks, and a dress shirt. easy. you can probably get away with not wearing a tie.

Just remember not to stretch the sweater.

A navy or mid-grey v-neck will go with almost anything.

Just don't do what I did, which is have most of your shirts made up with french cuffs then realise you're screwed if you wanna wear a sweater over them...

Or, you can not wear cufflinks, but instead overlap the cuff as if it were a barrel cuff. A snug sweater sleeve over top should hold the cuff in place just fine. 75% of my shirts are French cuff, and I do this all the time with no issue, and no one's the wiser.

^^^This. It would be a nice and appropriate business casual look.
