I just got some Boss: Hugo Boss Loafers. How do I take care of them properly?

Thanks

Get some good cedar shoe trees. They'll help keep the shape of the shoe, and also help to dry them out between wears. Get some shoe polish and cream to match the color of the shoes. Also, some rags, and a horsehair brush. Polish between wearings, or when they get scuffed and dull. I'm not entirely certain about the cream, but I believe you are supposed to use that sparingly - only a few times a year. But I could be wrong. I don't use it, myself. Also, wear them and enjoy them - don't treat them like a precious object.

Newbie question: will the shoe trees help prevent creasing in the shoes (or at least slow it down), or is this inevitable regardless of the use of shoe trees or not? Some of my friends actually prefer shoes that have creases, saying they add "character." Not me, though, I want to keep 'em looking new as possible.

Short answer: yes. Long answer: they will prevent the creases from becoming severe; most predistressed designer shoes today have the toe curl up in an imitation of shoes worn without trees. Most important thing: never wear them two days in a row.

Wow, that's interesting. So high end designer shoes have creases built in to look like old inexpensive shoes that have creases because their owners didn't have the money or care enough to buy shoe trees for their shoes??? Edit: btw, what if I have shoes (all of them as a matter of fact) which I haven't used shoe trees with. Will using them now reverse/slow down creases setting or is it too late?
