High waisted chinos?

Hi All,

For ages I have been looking for chinos with a more classic look: high waist, pleats, side adjusters, without having to spend too too much money.
Doesn't sound like a tall order, and yet I can't find anything.

I have fairly strong thighs and calves, so the high waist / pleats combination it is quite flattering on me.

Suitsupply has some cotton-linen trousers, but it isn't quite a chinos.

Any suggestions?

Thanks all!

Not going to get you side adjusters but I have a pair of Bronson Manufacturing WW2 chinos that are actually fantastic casual pants barring the cheapest buttons created by man in the fly. Hits at waist, full cut all that, very traditional looking. For what they cost you might want to give them a test run.

I have chinos from S&M and I have to say there's something about the fit I don't particularly like - maybe not as slim as I prefer. They are otherwise great but I have been on the hunt for a slimmer pair, 100% cotton (difficult to find these days strangely), and lighterweight. I found one from Sid Mashburn but there are also a bit more fuller in the legs like S&M but they do free tailoring so I can get it tapered. Will check out the other suggestions on here.

Cheers All,

I went on and ordered a pair of navy chinos from S&M. With VAT and duties I am probably looking at about £100, which isn't crazy crazy cheap, but compares well with Suitsupply at about £150.

Remains to be seen if the fit is acceptable. How do you guys properly estimate your size on S&M? I guess for trousers is doable, but how about all those neapolitan cut jackets?

I am looking for a high waisted pair in beige, preferably heavyweight

I really like the Joe McCoy Chino Trousers but they are only mid-rise and I don’t like the way they look with a tucked in shirt

Any recommendations?

how tall are you? depending on how tall you are/proportioned you might need a higher rise to get the high rise effect. you should check the rise lengths on different brand’s offerings. Casatlantic looks like they have the longest(around 13in). A

For instance, S&M high rise are only mid rise on my frame…12in at size 35 waist…
