Hi all,

I would like to give my GF a silver bracelet for her birthday in August but I do not know anything about jewelry

Could somebody here can help me by giving some basic info or recommendations on were to shop?

Here are some things I do know:

Her wrist circumference measures 16cm (=6,3")
It should be made of silver (and rhodium plated etc. I guess..?)
I would prefer a relativly simple design
A wellknown brand would be the easiest (I am thinking of shopping on-line)
The budget is not that great, around €150-250 ish

Many thanks for any replies!

Are you in A'dam or any of the larger cities?

Get an antique/vintage bracelet and have it polished up. Plenty of vendors.

I live near Rotterdam / Dordrecht. Picking up a old bracelet would be nice indeed but I am a little reluctant to do so since I am afraid to buy some worthless piece of plated junk

Also it should be something that she can wear a lot and not be to fragile... Dordrecht has some nice antique shops, I will have a look!

If you are in Rotterdam, why not take the train to Antwerp? More jewelry than you could wish for there and it is only an hour away from where you are. Otherwise, Amsterdam is an option as well.

I went to a navajo silversmith in NM and got amazing jewelry about 15 years ago. Most of the stuff now is no where near the same quality.
The turquoise - silver navajo and SW native american jewelry is pretty amazing.

Also afghan silver and lapis pieces.
