I'm a somewhat recent college graduate and am looking for my first 'real' suit. I currently have a navy 2 button suit purchased from Men's Wearhouse, but it's about five years old and it's time for a new one. I'm just getting started with picking out my style, so your help is greatly appreciated!

The suit will be worn somewhat rarely, mostly for job interviews and weddings.

I'm 5'10" 155lbs 32" waist 40R suit and live in Cincinnati, OH.

My mother works part time at Macy*s so I can use her discount to purchase items there for roughly 40% off for the next few days. I have been looking at suits there, but I'm unsure which is the right one or if there are better values out there at other stores / online. I'm willing to spend up to $400.

I'm also looking for new shoes; any thoughts on particular styles to complement your suggestion above? There's an AE outlet nearby that may have good deals.

I look forward to your suggestions!

Since your Mom works at Macy's and you can get a discount, you may want to look for a two button charcoal Hart Schaffner & Marx suit. Charcoal is very versatile, and often times HSM suits can be had on sale at extremely reasonable prices. I also think HSM can be a very good deal for the money.
As far as shoes are concerned, you may want to try AE Park Avenues in black. Just a suggestion, there are surely many more to come. Good luck.

I'm not sure which Macy's your mom works at but buy your suit at the Kenwood store; they have the best selection. Also, AE is having a sale on factory seconds, which tend to be indistinguishable from most first quaility shoes.

Good luck.

Thanks for the replies so far; I plan on heading over this evening.

Any more suggestions out there?
