I was just wondering whether anyone else has noticed a significant decrease in the selection/inventory that Grapevinehill is offering. Is this because Christmas season just ended and they won't get anything new in until the sales are over?

Also, I noticed that GVH has switched from a primarily bidding format to primarily Buy It Now listings. Any thoughts?

it's always been up and down, at least for the past couple of years.

i don't blame them for switching to the fix price format. i'm pretty much doing the same.

It's up and down because a manufacturer sends them their inventory at the end of a season. GVH doesn't have a steady flow of inventory coming in. It's not like Ralph Lauren sends them shoes every couple weeks. Rather, just like shops we know have end of season sales to move merchandise, those shops also send a bunch of inventory to gray market sellers like GVH. For this reason, they get a shipment of hundreds and hundreds of shoes, sell them all, and then wait around until the next shipment comes in.

No, it doesn't "beg the question." You might beg for that question to be answered. But "begging the question" means to assume what you are trying to prove. It does not mean that one answer leads to a further question. Begging the question is a logical fallacy according to which you have to assume the answer you are seeking in order to arrive at that answer.

Sorry. Just feeling pedantic, I guess.

And I though the forum was keeping quiet about this so as not to stir up competition.

Yeah...this is a very common misinterpretation. 99% of the time, the writer means "raises the question."
