There are about 5 pairs of Edward Greens between 7.5-9 on the sales racks in New York for $636. I didn't check the other sizes. They were pretty basic lace-ups - Berkeley and the like.

What do people think of $636 as a sale price for EG? Good? Mediocre?
Sky Valet wanted $840-$950 per pair last week. I don't know about prices in the NYC area.

$600 is a LOT to pay for shoes. I prefer to shop Zappos. But, to each his own. I guess there are people here who will spend $700 for a shirt from Kabbaz. That is REALLY out of my range.

There's nothing on Zappos that approaches the quality of EG.

They were $637.50; exactly 25% off the $850 regular price. As the summer moves along, they will put up signs saying take an extra 25%, or 30% or 40% or 50% off, but I doubt that any EGs will be left at 40% or 50%. I also saw some in sizes 9-11 there; all Berkley-mostly black and a few brown.
Polo, at 72nd streeet has more EG models, at $499, with great trees included.

Are those sale price on the EGs at Polo? If so, how does a sale like that go unnoticed??

Beats me. I put this on the regular SF a few days ago and no one commented:
Polo at 72 and Madison- I bought two pairs of EGs; A Black Whittier captoe oxford with a type of U throat and a dark Oak Borden penny loafer with a split toe- they were $850 reduced to $499, with lovely trees (worth at least $100) included. Quite a bargain.
It seems as if Polo is getting rid of all its readymade EG's, but I did not directly ask about it. Most of Polo's shoes are against two walls (one display of sale shoes and one of regular priced ones). There is also a small table display with 4 EGs on it and a sign saying that these can be ordered bespoke. The non-sale wall has no EGs on it-just 15-18 others (mostly Italian). The sale wall of 15-18 shoes is about 40% EGs-the two I got, plus the oxford in brown; a tassel loafer in burgundy and side elastic plain toe models in black and brown. All are priced at the same $850/$499. They also have a black crocodile EG oxford reduced from $5,000 to $2,999.

Thanks for the response. I stopped by to look, but there was nothing in my size. My credit card is relieved.

I went to Polo today too. Those lace-ups are alligator and are indeed reduced.

The lace-ups were nice. They also had the EG side gussets on sale. Unfortunately the RL last just does not fit my foot.

ZJ: Did you see the black 360 CS at Polo today?
