I am new at watches, and hoping someone could recommend to me a flieger-style watch with a black dial, luminescent hands, no date, no logo, no display back, handwind, and under $900 USD. I missed the boat on the Archimede "Pilot Original" and the Stowa "Original Flieger" and know not where to turn.

I thought the Stowa "Original Flieger" was still available?

^ Wow! It wasn't on the site yesterday...

But now it is there. It is about 2X more than I can afford.

EDIT: oh yeah, well anyway, that watch is sold out. I guess I will wait for the serial version of the FO and save my pennies over the next few months.

I like the Ikarus, I could live with the logo, I just don't care for complications like the date window; plus the display back just feels incongruous for something so utilitarian. Nice watch, though.

I sit and date things all day long, so I really like having a date window.

I got mine upraded with the COSC movement and for the price and look I don't feel the display back is moot.

Have you looked at Laco?

Laco fliegers are as legit as it gets, for they are one of the five manufacturers of the original "B-Uhr", along with A. Lange & Söhne, IWC, Stowa, and Wempe.
