Autumn coming up. Went to my tailor for the seasonal purchase. Basically two options in my mind: a charcoal suit, business type (I have one charcoal suit but it has kind of stripes that, under certain circumstances, may give kind of "wrong" impression). The other option: a sportcoat.
Just assume I will be "professional" and go for the charcoal suit, in spite of feeling more happy about the sportcoat. I looked through most of my tailor's books (Loro Piana, Dormeuil, Scabal, Drapers... the Holland&Sherry ones hadn't arrived yet, and there was some problems with Zegna...And yes, my tailor has no Lester books, a pity, but Madrid is not London; on the other hand, food is certaily better around here...)
So the thing is that most of the plain charcoal cloths just looked so "booring" to me. I am really into stripes. But I agree that it can be useful to have some non-striped suits (right now I have two, but both are for summer; true, I have one dark blue suit for winter, but it is a not very well fitting RTW one which I intend to get rid of in a near future).
Among the charcoal cloths, I found the Dormeuil Amadeus cloths 300001 and 300094 to look quite nice. Not too dull, a bit "shiny", if you know what I mean. Now, still, they did not convince me. So, if there are any cloth guys left out there (I believe that some may have abondoned SF for the LL), any suggestions? It is so bloody hard to guess what the suit will look like just by looking on a tiny piece of cloth...
