Do these shoes go well with a navy suit?

Hello Everyone,

I picked up a navy suit during Black Friday sales. I'm wondering if these shoes are appropriate to wear with the suit for business and dinner occasions

black cap-toes will go with a Navy suit. The square-toe is a bit out of style, but otherwise it will work.

Great thanks

They are the only dress shoes I have. I have been slowly redoing my wardrobe. I will pick up a round toe black shoe next

Is something like this what I should be looking for?

Black shoes with navy, grey suits. Always a good, conservative choice. Especially if you visit the old world ;-)

Great, I would say I am on the conservative side. I'm trying to get out of the dressing like a teenager but I like simple and traditional

Do things like toe shape and shiny or not shiny matter?

Those shoes are not square toed. More of a chiseled last.

Would you say these shoes go with a navy suit?

I'm a 25 year old guy just starting to upgrade my wardrobe from graphic tees etc. I don't need the latest trend. I just want to make sure I'm proper

If you're 25, play carefully. Both extremes--graphic t-shirts and ultra-conservative attire--may not suit you well at this age.

I work in a financial district and see young men around your age decked out in whatever Brooks Brothers sales persons sold to the inspiring SVPs of finance and their ilk. Honestly, sometimes it looks a bit comical. You're at the age were playfulness is still allowed, so add some color to your outfits after your cover the basics.

Yes, those shoes are more than acceptable with a navy suit. Keep it simple with a white button up shirt, black belt, and black tie. Very safe and you’ll get compliments. This is coming from a 26 year old that wears a suit and tie 5+ days out of the week.

I would definitely second the after the basics portion. Get your wardrobe staples in first and then get the fun stuff like different colored shirts, ties, etc.
