Dandies take inspiration from the past, and especially from past dandies, so it should be no surprise that as today we should be taking influence from these certified greats though I do believe that Puff Daddy may be a bit suspect in the true dandyism department. http://www.guardian.co.uk/theguide/f...798059,00.html

Not having a portrait made of yourself could also a sign of definitive fragility...

Most dandys are very sensitive people who are trying to hide themselves behind their public image...You also have the very shallow crowd but they tend not to be real dandys prefering to style and sunbstance only pure appearance...

Or the i-Dandy which is somewhat of a combonation of the two that has sprung from the internet age.

The dash between "i" and "dandy" makes it feel too much like a cheap knockoff.

It's rather interesting how there are very few images of Brummell available. The majority of them are the same things you see over and over again.

I do also think that a real Dandy is running after the perfect moment ,this suspended emotional time when we are happy, when everything is just beauty and order...Having a portrait of yourself is like a little death , a mausolee to an already very close but somewhat distant moment we will never catch again...

A portrait like a picture can only be unperfect..
