Let's finish this by me saying : we agree to differ.

However, and it's a big HOWEVER :

I guarantee to :

1. NEVER wear shorts with loafers
2. NEVER wear black socks under non-existent shorts
3. NEVER show varicose veins when I get them
4. always wear chinos or casual trousers with no sock contrast v. the shoe- that's a good tip which I will take up.
5. This will all be easy in our wonderful climate.
6. I actually went to Laszlo Vass's shop but he was away. ( Just boasting )
7. Those Maxwells cost me £120 - a bargain in my opinion.

Because I'm not minted and often used shoes are barely worn at all.
So far, no leprosy.
If you have not tried it, and I don't blame you, you may writhe in horror, but it's not like wearing someone else's underpants, is it ?
My Vass budapesters were ca. £80 instead of £500-£600 which I cannot afford at all. They fit and I am very proud of them, so much so that I wore them in Budapest to re-acquaint them with the streets. Also, got a box and bags gratis from Laszlo Vass to keep them in. My friend bought 2 pairs there, so this helped my cheeky request. You go your way.................

I think there is a bit, though there are plenty of young people who can manage to make tassle loafers look good regardless. Personally, they're one of the few things I just can't see myself wearing until I'm older.

Actually, I was just going for "mottled-look" = leprosy. Two blown jokes in as many days. Maybe I'll just give up.

Used shoes? Go for 'em. If I could fit into anything besides massive camel-size footwear, I might be tempted to join you, but damn if anyone who shares my size doesn't seem to wear 'em to the grave.

As soon as I hit seventy, I'm buying five pairs of snaffle-bit loafers and never looking back. I plan on rocking those suckers with highwater pants and anyone who doesn't like it can get off my front lawn before I run 'em off it. Kids. With their music and their drugs, too, I'll bet.

The bloke at Cheaney's factory shop told me they sold 4 x size 15UK shoes the other week.
I was astounded, but heartened because I will try to take my prospective son-in-law there soon to buy some proper shoes. He's 6 foot 7" and a size 14 shoe.
I may need to start calling him "The Camel".
I did realise that "Leprosy" was a joke, although in these pc times, terribly unfair on shoe seeking sufferers. Hur hur.

I think tassels can look good with the right shoes. Those shoes are diseased. I don't know what's going on there. But for 30 bucks, it's worth it to see if you can fix them. That's peanuts.
