The made in UK shoes were definitely goodyear welted. I'm not too sure about the construction of my pair. Here's a pic of the sole for reference. How can i tell if it is blake/rapid construction?

I picked up a pair of Cole-Haan collection Bremen Oxford bluchers at the CH store in San Francisco in their post-NYE sale for pretty much the same price as on Bluefly.com. So, at $229 overpriced, Bluefly's $171 no big savings, but at $60, I'd snap 'em up!

I thought they might be Blake/Rapid because I saw stitching on the inside and outside of the shoe. Here is some more info on Blake/Rapid. But your sole looks like mine. I'm not sure what kind of construction that is. Here is a picture of mine, taken a while back. I think mine are glued with some nails to hold the sole together. Nevertheless, I'm happy with what I paid for them. The leather is comparable to the Santoni Classic line.

Of course I bought mine with the best thing the Rack sells on a regular basis: $12.90 Cedar Forest shoe trees.

anybody had any recent experience with Cole Haan Collection shoes?

Cole Haan is on Gilt tomorrow and I'm wondering if

a) I should try to target any CHC shoes and
b) at what price do these become a decent deal. $100? $150?

I was in our local DSW with the missus, and the one decent thing that I saw were Cole Haan Chelsea boots for $145, which I believe were these http://www.colehaan.com/colehaan/cat...ctGroup=232168. The web site says that it has "Bologna construction". Is that the same as Blake stitched? I did note that it had stitching along the outer soles but I didn't know if this was functional or merely decorative.

No Bologna construction is where the leather upper goes all the way around the shoe.

I have the heavily brogued wingtips. They have a black, beveled sole. I love them. They have the Nike Air thing, but you cannot see it like on some of their shoes. They are very comfortable, maybe the most comfortable of the shoes I own and they look great with heavy winter clothing.

That's bizarre. I have a set of cordovan wingtip bals from CHC and they're quite comfortable. Mind you the first few wears were quite stiff, but after breaking them in they were very comfortable. Then again, everyone's foot is different, so I guess it's not so bizarre.

I was in the Nordstrom Rack a few days ago and was surprised to see a very nice selection of Cole Haan Collection shoes for $59-69. I found one pair of Made in England bals in a size 10 ($450 @ ch.com) that I could not squeeze my foot into so I I offered them to a guy standing near me. I may not have gotten the shoes but he offered me a summer internship at his firm so it all worked out great

I found these sleek made in Italy bals for myself in a 10.5 and also for $59. They are no longer indexed at ch.com but googling the model number reveals that they retailed for $365. What do you guys think?

Very good shoe constructions,it is bologna structure inside and outside with welt,it should be bologna/rapid structure,I am not sure if it so called, but I am sure it is more complicated structure than blake/rapid.The shoe should be Cole Haan 's vintage Collection series, decent shoes.
