I have a pair of Dolce & Gabbana suede loafers in chocolate suede that were from the fall/winter collection. Is this color of shoe also appropriate for the spring/summer? The snow and slush is finally gone, so I'd like to pull them out again. Just no 100% sure if it can be done as a spring/summer shoe.

Absolutely. I wear chocolate suede, both oxford and loafer, as much as tobacco suede in summer.

Is this the 2nd, 3rd or 4th thread about suede shoes/loafers etc in the last 7 days?

Yes it is and I seem to recall you posting a picture of your shoes to prove a point. I'm not trying to single anyone out but I'm just surprised how far some people have come along to get SF's approval on what to and what not to wear. Some "rules" are important but when we start to have internal conflicts about what colour in such season is appropriate or having the need for a colour combo approval it just becomes ridiculous. Again, this isn't an attack on anyone just a mere observation.

At the end of the day, if you know the rules, you know which ones you are violating, and nonetheless you are happy with what you are doing - who are we to let others judge to the degree that it gets to us.

To the OP; yes I believe chocolate suede is appropriate for summer time when. I personally like brighter colours as well but his to his own right?

The reason I ask is that it seems dark brown suede shoes all but dissappear from stores in the spring/summer. I always found that a bit odd.

wait, can someone explain why suede shoes might NOT be appropriate for summer? i wear them year round and i think they're fine... of course, it is almost always like summer year round here anyway.
