We almost bought a Miami Blue Macan turbo heheh. I thought it looked sharp with carbon side blades and mirrors, and black door handles, trim and wheels.

but this one had too many options we didn’t want (I think msrp was $110k+), and we liked the look of the GTS better anyway. We ended up with the PTS ultraviolet I’ve posted before (which some think is an abomination as well)

There was an Amethyst Macan with a white interior at Porsche Greenwich, it was beautiful.

Carvana is here to pick up my old lease and pay me $4500 for it. I still think I came out ahead with not being in a position to haggle on the new lease. Fun. Pretty painless.

If that’s scratched that deeply and dented/pinched then that’s probably a new quarter panel and repaint to blend the door and hood. Take it to a really good shop.

My chances of acquiring a Telluride have taken a turn for the worse. I reached out to all of the local dealers about placing an order for a 22 and got a few bites telling me the order books aren't open yet. The largest local dealer has been more active with me in outreach but is strongly hinting that I won't be able to order the trim I want because they will prioritize higher trims due to the chip shortage. The higher trims bring a few things I like (heated seats, few other minor things like rain sensing wipers) and a lot of things I don't really want for this car (moonroof, power liftgate, leather seats). Given that this car will be driven like 5k miles per year and will spend its life getting kicked around on the streets of SF, spending an extra $7k for the privilege of purchasing a car isn't that appealing to me.

Given that the chip shortage doesn't seem to be sorting itself out any time soon I think my best bet is to just to convince my wife to kick the can for a bit. That or we go with a 2019 XC90 at the end of the summer once those start coming off lease. A Q7 could work but they seem to go for a bit more CPO than comparable XC90s. GLS' are about $10k and are fugly which is a bad combo although otherwise I think they are probably the best option. My wife has ruled out almost all other vehicles in the class, except the new 3 row GC but I don't see any reason to buy a first-year Stellantis new model.
