Can food be art?

Yes, McCarthy used foodstuffs as foodstuffs whereas Nitsch seems to utilize meat as a ceremonial totem.

As an architect I can honestly say what I do is not art, nor is Frank Gehry's architecture art. It might have been art in its infancy when he was sketching and molding models out of cardboard, but as soon as the Air Conditioning man shows up asking if he can run a duct through your symphony hall roof, you've been reduced to a victim of practical concerns.

I've been thinking about this a lot over the past month. I think I've come to the conclusion that cooking is craft, and while it is artistic, it isn't really art.
But tha's just me, you all can believe whatever you'd like.
