As we all know, the Tetbury in antique nubuck is not actually calf, but rather some sort of hybrid suede/calf that is created by compressing nubuck until it takes on a smooth appearance.
I have read all the old threads about this material and one thing struck me: in each one, somebody mentioned that the leather takes wax polish just like any other, but that I should avoid putting on any cream at all costs.
Can someone explain why this is, or if it's even true? Should I keep my Saphir renovateur away from my Tetburys?
