Apologies for this beginner's question but I recently bought myself a pair of leather shoes and was wondering, how do I know what type of shoe tree to buy? Would all shoe trees fit no matter what type/style of shoe? I've uploaded the pair I recently bought.

Thank you for your help!

First, I would see if the maker of your shoe offers shoe trees. If not, check out the cedarville store here on styleforum. They will guide you in picking out the proper shoe tree for your new shoes.

I have had to use different size shoe trees for the same size shoe, in different styles, by the same manufacturer.

If possible, you should take it to a brick and mortar store, put in different shoe tree sizes and see which fits the best.

Define a fit?

So hypothetically, Nordstrom Rack may sell inexpensive Cedar Trees. I know its not C&J trees or Lobb, etc. but I picked up some vintage Florsheims...in a 10D.

yet the medium is listed as 8 - 10M.< M for medium
and the large is listed as 10 - 12.

So which one do I use. I think the medium fits fine, but I can still see a crease that was already there.
The large fills it out, but I don't know if it is stretching the shoe.

Any advice?

Absolutely pathetic! Poor guy is looking for help and all you want to do is pawn your wears. Either help the guy make an informed decision or go bother someone else. As to the OP, follow the suggestion of your fellow forumite and take the shoe to a brick and mortar store for help. Get educated then look under the cedarville hood not before. Just me trying to help.

Are there square-toed shoe trees? That would be amazing.

I believe Cleverley makes a square toe shoe tree but I'm not sure that is a RTW option, maybe bespoke only.(?).
