Saw some Zanellas I like but they either come in a 34W or a 36W, no 35W. I normally wear a 34W but Zanellas are kinda cut on the slim side (waist only) for a 34W.

is it better to buy a 34W and have it taken out or buy a 36W and have it taken in...I guess you can generalize this for any wool pant trousers/slacks.

Thanks.

I belive that it is better to let out. The reason has something to do with the how the alteration affects the seat.

if the seat/hips and thigh fit well then alter the waist in or out as needed.

Buy large and take in, I say.

Over time you are unlikely to grow smaller.

My understanding is that you should work with the size that is best for you in the seat and thighs. The waist is much easier to take in or let out.
