Good day,

The day is close that I have to return to the office. Im an accountant, so desk job in San Diego, CA.

That being said, most of my wardrobe for shirts that is work suitable is about mmm 6-10 years old so its showing its age (the non-work shirts are recent but Tommy Bahama linen so no go).

Most of my older shirts was off the rack from Nordstorms/Khols/Macys and the cheapest Arrow shirts actually fit the best being they were "fitted" type, but that was ages ago.

Basically I have zero clue what brands are good for dress shirts these days that can stand up for the keyboard & mouse movement rubbing

Can anyone give suggestions?
(that and maybe a recommendation for arm guards for typists like in the 60s)

Spier and Mackay seems like a good option. They carry a large selection of dress shirts and prices are very reasonable.

I have a bunch of shirts from Charles Tyrwhitt that have held up for many years. If you find the 3 shirts for $99 coupon online, it's a fantastic value.

You don’t give a price range but many people on SF will recommend Proper Cloth for MTM shirts. Ideally you would be fitted in their NYC shop but they have a good online system, and the first shirt can be returned for a redo. Prices vary based on fabric and options like MOP buttons, but expect to pay around $100 for a basic broadcloth dress shirt.

I second Charles Tyrwhitt at the 3 for $99 deal -- unbeatable value at $33 apiece. Most of my business shirts are the non-iron twill white dress shirts. They're sturdy office shirts that can do double duty at more formal events since they lack a breast pocket, unlike many dress shirts in this value tranche.

I have some OCBD shirts from Spier & Mackay which I am happy with, although I only wear them in colder weather and not sure the thick oxford cloth will be comfortable in San Diego -- although it would stand up to desk/armrest rubbing. I'm not sure if these are too casual for your office. S&M is high quality for the price point-- if you can dial down a good fit getting stuff shipped back and forth from Canada. It takes some patience.

Brooks Brothers also comes to mind, the run 4 for $200 promos which sounds like pretty decent value. I don't own any BB myself since my work shirt wardrobe is essentially fleeted with CT and I don't like breast pockets on formal dress shirts.
