I know what 32 YO Consultants make. Be very careful with the use of the words "high budget." :)

There must be a pretty wide range for this, no? If you're doing well at a top firm it could be $500K+ pretty easily I would think? And sub-100K for low end...

To be fair, there's a difference between making a lot of money and spending a lot of money on clothes. And until you've spent some time 'round these parts, you really don't know what "a lot of money on clothes" means. There are extremely wealthy people that have never once looked at a price tag while shopping, yet have never heard of the brands and habits that are dropped here regularly.

Huh. In finance there are tons of opportunities for this (or much much more) even for those who are not in risk-taking positions. Surprised top consulting roles do not keep the pace.

I don't know about making this thread in SW&D unless you're prepared to do a lot of reading. You sound like you're interested in dressing CM light (esp. if your idea of casual is a Ralph Lauren catalog/Brooks Bros)... the title would make it sound like minimalist in a SW&D sense, which probably isn't what you're looking for. Most of the suggestions will be of brands you've probably never heard of and will cost more than you're willing to pay if you view SW&D as only "stuff I wear when I'm not wearing a suit for M-F".

I only say this because if you just want to "fit in" with your casual clothes, you won't get much helpful advice. People in SW&D will just tell you to browse your J. Crew/GQ catalogs and be done with it as there's not really much to it.

The interesting ones disappear fast, don't they?

Kenneth Cole is not a quality brand, and its popularity has declined. Replacing some of those shirts is advised. If it's just shirts and suits, then maybe going to a local Nordstrom to talk with a personal shopper would be best.

If it's going to be upgrading much of the wardrobe, the salary and "cost/value" statement suggest either studying style carefully (which other details suggest is unlikely) or, ahem, hiring someone to assist. It could be local, wherever that is. Usually it makes more financial sense to buy belts online.
