I've just received a shipment of Bexley shoetrees (size 42 eur = 8 UK) and I wondered how they should fit my shoes. They are the spring loaded type and when I put them in my size 8 shoes I don't get the impression they stretch the shoe at all. It seems they just sit in the shoe, without any tension on the springs. Are these types of trees supposed to stretch and thus have the metal springholders disappear in the wood when inside a shoe? Mine look just like on the picture when they are inside of my shoes.
