First post here but I hope it might be useful for people....

By way of background I've been fascinated by tailoring for a few years and being based in London have been lucky enough to get some excellent advice and tuition from various cutters and tailors in and around Savile Row. Trousermaking was where I started out but one thing I initially couldn't get my head around was the whole 'ironwork' piece so often discussed online. Whilst there are lots of pictures out there I have never come across a video so when shaping up a leg of a pair I'm making thought I'd rectify that...
The legs were lightly shaped (the photo is of the underside) before sewing up so this video is of additional shaping.

Sorry it doesn't show the whole thing but my camera was playing up at first so I lost the shaping of the topside...!

Very interesting - thanks for posting. I can’t say my local trouser tailor knew what I was talking about when I asked him to shape the trousers with the iron (I need this as I have large calves). Perhaps I will show him your clip.

By the way, I am guessing you might be able to provide me with some thoughts on the best way to sell a small collection of wine (just 30 or 40 bottles). Do PM if you are, otherwise ignore this likely confusing comment:)
