I found myself in Miami Beach yesterday and wondered into Benetton and purchased a simple plain t-shirt to try the brand out.

I can only guess that other forum members have experience with the brand. So, what do you think? For the price is the quality there? Or is it better to just pass on their products?

Jon.

Only have one item from Benetton - a polo shirt that has the same measurements as an Rl custom slim-fit polo, but with no buttons or buttonholes on the collar placket. The cotton mesh quality is almost identical, and it was less than half the price of the Polo. Plus, the logo is unrecognizable - could be some obscure tennis organization, could be a little Cthulhu, who knows?

Sisley, Benetton's slightly higher-end line, has some nice pieces - last time I was in the outlet there was a single-breasted wool overcoat, which had a zip-out thermal liner, and which could also be two-way zipped up the front and formed a mock-neck. If they had my size I would've bought it.

Some of Benetton's trousers are also quite nice, but I was very underwhelmed by the dress shirts.

Some of their stuff is of great quality. I have had for many years merino wool sweaters, and wool scarves from them. I like the fact their sweaters, mostly, are solid colors and very durable. Throw them into the washer and they come out without that bally texture.

They tend to the early 20-s age bracket, and most of the other stuff is a bit too boyish for me. All in all a good alternative for certain items.

i've never seen any men's clothes in a benetton that actually had the benetton label. i've only seen sisley.

i have one of the sisley sweaters from last fall and it is my favorite sweater. i thought the pants looked gay though.

I'm fairly certain Sisley is benneton's LOW-end line. The prices seem to reflect this, as do the materials (more synthetics, or natural fibers of a lower quality).
I was always under the impression that Sisley was the high end label.

Since their stylings tend to be more stylizedas well as the types of ads that they favor do not favor a mass-market type of client.

Benetton/Sisley makes affordable quality clothing (Sisley is their higher line) most of the clothing is made from Italy; Benetton was known as the company that produced Colors Magazine, they're a socially conscience company (no sweatshops) They make clothes that fit (european sizes), no inflated sizes, so their 'smalls' are actually 'small', not medium

Actually, I found their smalls to be too small...more like extra small. I purchased a medium sized t-shirt. RRL and the GAP are the only other companies I know that have similar sizing to Benetton / Sisley. Sisley is their higher end; the prices reflected this...although they were not much higher than comparable Benetton items. Jon.
