Like many popular advice columns, it's a shallow analysis that tends to error on the side of recommending what will be the "sure thing" for most people, even if it is not universally true. Would you actually expect Details magazine to offer anything more than that?
Details and its competitors are really only suitable for reading if you can find an abandoned copy at the airport while waiting for your connecting flight.
