And thoughts on them? I always think a pair would be interesting because they are classic in their style but wonder if they are a bit much.....thanks

the wayfarer suit a retro fifties style, Jack Nicholson is a famous wearer. I don't own a rayban pair, but do have very similar calvin kline and 1980's pair of armani when that look made a big comeback.

If you buy a pair, don't buy them in such an unbelievable size like all the "treny looking kids" out there.

I have a pair wayfarer, rotate them with a pair of aviators depending on my mood. Really like them even I've been told the make me look even older than my old man's cloth.

they are a classic, but don't suit everyone because they sit high and point up a bit. there is a modern RayBan wayfarer shape which is slightly lower profile and doesn't point up as much. i love them, and alternate with my very porno gold mirror lens RayBan aviators...

you should also have a look at the Persol wayfarer - a slightly different look, and available in two sizes (the smaller is probably better for most people). Steve McQueen wore these... 'nuff said

The persols are pretty cool and are worth checking out. I've got a pair of newer Rayban wayfarers but I'm thinking about moving on. I like them, but perhaps the love affair is over. I saw some total bro's wearing them the other day and that made me think the wayfarer return is over again for another 10 years.

It depends how they fit you - if they fit and you like them, why not?

I wear them. I think they are just a classic style. Simple.

I believe sunglasses' lens should match the shape of your face, no? (I wear round lens because I have a round face and they look great on me). In this case, one would have (or at least get close to) a square. Hahah

I've had a pair of Wayfarers sitting in the bottom of a drawer for about 25 years. I don't think they look retro in a cool way. They simply look old and out-of-touch.

I could see a young kid discovering them for the first time. Maybe an old frame on a young face might work. Personally, I'd prefer not to harvest styles of the past, at least when it comes to sunglasses. I'm fond of Persols, which have a similar tortoise-like appearance but a more contemporary shape.

They are very Large. If you can pull it off fine, but for people with narrow faces they are poison.

It is interesting because I have always read the opposite, eg if you have a round face you should avoid round glasses...I have a somewhat oval head and wear rectangular or non round style glasses, when I wore the round oakleys I had for a while it looked like alien eyes or something.
