Great questions...Looking for a regular billfold, ideally with 8 slots for credit cards and wider than US dimensions so I can readily hold Euro currency when I travel.

I am coordinating my wallet with my shoes which I'm buying more and more in dark brown.

Saks and NM both have a good selection of wallets. Also, House of Fleming in Buckhead can make you a bespoke one out of the leather, color and configuration of your choice.

I really like the stuff that comme des garcons is putting out; but I don't know if it would match your shoes-although, if you're looking at bespoke, a $200 wallet that's interesting might be an easy decision.

Helmut Lang used to make some of the coolest wallets I've seen - plenty of classic billfolds, some with a nice twist, like a rubber band used to keep the wallet from opening. They are hard to come by these days, but they pop up on Ebay sometimes...
